Mr. Miguel Reyes-Mariano teaches PAD 501 Comparative Public Administration (public administration and international public management tracks).
Mr. Reyes-Mariano has been involved in Business Management and Public Administration since 1982 when he was an administrator for the Central Bank of Dominican Republic. Over the past thirty-three years, he has gained international management experience in the private and public sectors, in companies ranging from hundreds to thousands of employees in Mexico, Spain, Italy, Iraq, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and USA. He has worked as a Senior Program Support, Employment Counselor, Career Counselor, Chief of Training and Development, HR Assistant Director, Marketing Director, Comptroller, and Business and Management Instructor and Professor in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and USA.
As an Assistant and Acting Comptroller for the 360th Civil Affairs Brigade in Baghdad, Iraq, he was instrumental in the rehabilitation of the region. During his time as Senior Social Services Program Specialist at Erie County Department of Social Services, he headed a Six-Sigma Project to identify issues of non-compliance with rules and regulations established to recipients of Daycare benefits. Erie County detected in a pilot study in November 2011 frauds against the Day-Care Unit for over $40,000.00. By the end of the fraud detection program implementation, the project helped to identify large number cases of defrauding Erie County for nearly $2,000,000.00.
In addition to native fluency in English and Spanish, Mr. Reyes-Mariano speaks French, Italian, and Portuguese.
