Department of Business, Economics and Public Administration

Public administration programs are housed in the Department of Business, Economics and Public Adminstration which is located in the School of Education & Applied Professions.  We offer the MPA in Public Administration and Nonprofit Management (NASPAA accredited), the Graduate Certificate in Public Management, a 4 + 1 accelerated pathway with the MPA, and an undergraduate public administration minor.

The SUNY Buffalo State MPA is accredited by the NASPAA Commission on Peer Review and Accreditation and listed on the Annual Roster of Accredited Programs in conformity with NASPAA standards.

Public administration is concerned mainly with the science of administration in the executive branch of government and the management of nonprofit and voluntary organizations.

Its nearly 300 members - located across the U.S. and in 14 countries around the globe - award MPA, MPP, MPAff, and similar degrees.
